Live Over Europe On Palladia

bcc-live-over-europe

Many of us now at days have access to Palladia, which is a music channel that streams concerts and other music footage. Palladia is owned by MTV Networks. One would wish that MTV would broadcast this type of material on the main MTV channel, but this is good enough! They also broadcast in HD, which should be available from your cable provider.

Starting on Saturday October 22 at 9PM, they will be broadcasting Black Country Communion – Live Over Europe. It will not be the full DVD, but you’ll get to see a portion of the DVD, edited to be an hour. The full DVD is still scheduled to be released on October 24th!

Hopefully this prime time slot on a Saturday night will get a lot of new BCC fans. For those of you that do not know, Joe’s RAH DVD is still played in normal rotation on Palladia, which has brought him a nice fan base. The BCC show will also be aired again at the following times:

  • Sunday October 23rd at 12AM
  • Sunday October 23rd at 4PM
  • Wednesday October 26th at 4PM
  • Thursday October 27th at 11PM

For additional announcements and updates on the replays, you can always check out Palladia’s website. We would like to extend a thank you to Palladia for giving Joe and BCC the proper airtime that they rightly deserve.

Led Zeppelin Experience Returning This Fall

Jason Bonham will take the Led Zeppelin Experience back on the road this fall. The tour will start in October and run through mid November. The Led Zeppelin Experience tour is Jason’s tribute to his father, legendary drummer, John Bonham.

He will be joined on stage by Tony Catania (guitar and theremin), Stephen LeBlanc (keyboards and pedal-steel guitar), Dorian Heartsong (Bass), and James Dylan (Lead Vocals). They perform all the classics, including Moby Dick.  The concert is not only about the live performance, but also the lighting and rare Led Zeppelin video footage that plays in the background. Planet Rock Reviews Black Country Communion

high-voltage-bonamassa-solo

Planet Rock posted a fabulous review of Black Country Communion’s set at the High Voltage Festival in London.. Read on below.

Black Country Communion turn it all the way to ELEVEN for a fantastic late afternoon set that leaves the crowd begging for more.

Unlike the band that preceded them on the Main Stage (Thunder) Black Country Communion do not have 20 years of hits behind them. Instead they have two albums that have both been released in the past 12 months. What that means is that they are essentially playing a whole set of “new material” – something that bands generally avoid in high profile festival sets.

However, BCC’s strength is that their sound is fixed firmly in the mid 70s, and so their songs already sound classic. And so as the band rattle through tracks from both of their albums, the crowd devours them as if they’ve always been there, with each solo greeted by a huge cheer, the choruses sung loudly and the fists raised at all the right moments. A spectacular ‘Song Of Yesterday’, a blistering ‘One Last Soul’, a beautiful ‘Save Me’ and a breakneck rendition of ‘The Outsider’ are particularly noteworthy in a set full to the brim with highlights.

The band close with a re-versioned ‘Ballad Of John Henry’ (complete with ‘When The Levee Breaks’ drum beat and extended theremin solo) and then a brilliant version of ‘Burn’, their familiar set closer. The crowd literally sing themselves hoarse during the Deep Purple classic and the chants for “more” ring out long after the band return to their dressing rooms.

Like many of the bands that have played over the weekend, BCC worked hard at winning the crowd’s approval early on, but when they got there… boy-oh-boy, it was a beautiful thing.

Many thanks to our friends at Planet Rock for posting this great review of the boys.

Press Praises Black Country Communion

Black-Country-Communion-Band-1

From a recent news article on BuffaloNews.com:

There are exciting things happening in popular music these days. The problem is finding out about them.

With the collapse of radio as a connecting source of musical information, it seems that the music itself has gone into hiding, stuffed within its genre-specific cubbyhole, where fans of that specific style can find it, but the broader populace might miss it entirely. Great work is being done, but many an artist ends up preaching to the converted and failing to break into any sort of mainstream where new listeners might be reached.

Strict compartmentalization is not good for popular music, a form wherein cross-pollination of styles is akin to lifeblood. The most exciting stuff happens when musicians with broad tastes pull from many different directions and meet somewhere in the middle, where they ideally mix an interesting new brew out of variegated influences.

Which is why Black Country Communion has made one of the most exciting hard rock albums in many a moon. And which is also why you might not have heard of the band unless you religiously peruse Guitar magazine or UK import glossies like Classic Rock or Mojo.

Interesting to see how they compare Black Country Communion to modern day music. You can read the rest of the review at Buffalo News.

Awesome Cover of The Outsider

No joke, this guy has some mad skills on the guitar. Watch his cover of The Outsider and you’ll be in awe just like the other 3,000+ viewers on YouTube. Very well done Francisco! I’m sure Joe would definitely appreciate it.

Kevin “The Caveman” Shirley is with the band this week. Black Country Communion will be recording in Germany for a live CD and DVD. This could be a mix of multiple shows, don’t have many other details right now. This will be a good way for the folks who were not lucky to catch BCC in concert to see how they sound live. No word on release date yet, stay tuned for the details as they come in. The band was in Milan rehearsing for the tour and recording. Rock on!
